Do you ever have those moments when you are worried about placing the 是…的 (shì…de) grammar structure in a sentence incorrectly? And don’t know whether to add “的” (de) at the end of the phrase?
In today’s video, we are going to talk about the structure and when to use it.
If you already know though, why not skip over to our fun Chinese culture or vocabulary tests?
We use the 是…的 (shì…de) grammar point whenever we talk about things and events that have already happened and want to emphasize time, place, method, person or purpose.
But note that we only use it when this event has already happened or been completed in the past.
The structure of the sentence is:
Subject + 是 (shì) + time/ place/ method/ person/ purpose + verb + 的 (de)
